For the eighth consecutive year, Nordiska Kompaniet presented awards in various categories to individuals who made a significant impact in the industry. A total of six awards were presented from a jury of carefully selected creatives, fashion designers, and style icons.

The winner of this year's innovation award is a true fire spirit passionate about sustainability and innovation. Located at 43 Rue Notre Dame de Nazareth in Paris, the showroom will take place from 27th September to 4th October, 2023, showcasing a curated selection of the most prominent young brands from the SFC [INCUBATOR], as well as current and alumni designers supported by FASHION EAST. The FASHION [X] SHOWROOM was initiated in 2021 to create a global platform highlighting some of the most attractive emerging talents to shape the industry's future. Now in its third year, the FASHION [X] SHOWROOM has become a must-visit for top-tier press and buyers and a unique opportunity to meet with the talents personally.

The FASHION [X] SHOWROOM is supported by OnceMore® from Södra, the world's first large-scale process for recycling blended fabrics. Showroom visitors will also be able to meet the OnceMore® team and have a look and feel at the unique end products.

With a focus on sustainability, transparency, and material innovation, CTF 2023 hosted six inspiring keynotes and four panel discussions, exploring themes such as the immense potential of green textiles and innovative materials, sustainable forestry, new technologies, legislation and eco-friendly regulations, and the importance of cross-sector collaboration.&nbsp;

The initiative offered a unique opportunity for the entire supply chain involved in man-made cellulosic fibers (MMCF) to come together, collaborate, and drive positive change, inviting industry leaders and stakeholders from the fashion, textile, and forest sectors.

Röhsskas Modedagar occurred from the 16th until the 19th of March, 2023. This year’s edition offered inspiring lectures, panel talks and workshops exploring themes such as talent development and the conditions for sustainable transformation within the fashion textile sector. The inaugural edition of Röhsska Modedagar took place in 2016.

Röhsskas Modedagar is part of Textile Movement Talents, which the Swedish Fashion Council and Tillskärarakademin in Gothenburg organize. The initiative is part of Västra Götalands Regionens initiative Textile Movement, a joint project in western Sweden to establish the region as a pioneering textile cluster in Europe, spearheading sustainable and circular innovation in the industry.&nbsp;

The FASHION[X] SHOWROOM took place from Thursday 2nd - Monday 6th March 2023 at 43 Rue Notre Dame de Nazareth, highlighting some of the most prominent young brands from SFC's internationally recognized incubator program SFC [INCUBATOR] and Fashion East.

SFC’s ‘Stockholm [X]perience’ started off with the launch of ‘Fashion Transformation’, a new report series that highlights the transformation of the fashion industry and lays the foundation of SFC’s future focused agenda. The launch of the report took place during a panel discussion in collaboration with Polestar featuring industry experts exploring the transformation of the industry and the future it will lead to.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The report series Fashion Transformation was presented in collaboration with Polestar during a panel conversation moderated by Lucy Maguire from Vogue Business. Participants included Danica Kragic, professor in computer science at KTH The Royal Institute of Technology, Suzan Hourieh Lindberg, founder and CEO of The Social Few and Perspetivo, Jonatan Janmark, Partner at McKinsey, Linn Af Klint Kansmark, Strategic Project Manager, Circular Business at H&amp;M, Lisa Lang, Director of Policy and EU Affairs at EIT Climate KIC. The conversation was focused around the transformation of the industry and its most significant challenges and opportunities.&nbsp; &nbsp;

The following two days enabled international and local press, as well as other parts of SFC’s community to meet with the participants in SFC [Incubator]. The incubator focuses on brands and creatives combining innovative sustainable business models with creative excellence and a disruptive vision.&nbsp;

Participants in SFC [Incubator] highlighted during the event include upcycling brand Hodakova, AVAVAV’s Creative Director Beate Karlsson, BFC Newgen brand Feben, celebrity favourite Jade Cropper, Selam Fessahaye and previous LVMH Prize finalists and Gucci Vault participants Rave Review.

Acknowledging the power of mixing different cultural expressions, ‘A Stockholm [X]perience curated by SFC’ also included a one of a kind performance hosted by musician Mona Masrour featuring some of Sweden’s brightest R&amp;B and hip hop stars and an exhibition by art project AMAZE. The two-day event ended with the release of the new SFC book ‘’MODE 2022’’ and [Fashion X], a new digital platform highlighting the voices of the future of fashion.&nbsp;

The closing dinner hosted at Fotografiska Stockholm presented the <a href="https://www.swedishfashioncouncil.se/sfc-book">SFC book ‘MODE 2022’</a>, created together with NUDA PAPER, which is the creative translation of the report aimed at everyone interested in the future of fashion. Stories include Our Legacy Workshop, EYTYS, Anna Uddenberg, FEBEN, the next generation of fashion critics and more. The dinner also introduced [Fashion X], a new digital platform examining the fashion industry from a social, political, economic and creative point of view. [Fashion X] has been developed by SFC in partnership with SALLY, EY Doberman’s future manifestation lab.

At Dover Street Market's 3537 courtyard, Fashion [X] Showrooms media partner Dazed handed out free copies of their latest magazine. Dazed is the most influential independent fashion and culture title in the world, and champion radical fashion and youth culture, defining the times with a vanguard of next generation writers, stylists and image makers.

The issue featured cover stars such as Kelela, Burna Boy, Hal Baddie and Saucy Santana. At the free mag drop, a thousands bottles of beer came courtesy of friends at Heineken.&nbsp;

Since its reconstruction in 2018, SFC [Incubator] has been shaping the future of fashion by supporting the most innovative players on the market. The incubator focuses on emerging brands and creators combining creative excellence with innovative, sustainable business models and a disruptive vision.The participants are hand-picked by the Swedish Fashion Council and receive individualised coaching from a 360-degree approach, including everything from business model strategies, financing, PR- and communication, e-commerce, branding and positioning, and sourcing and production. Jade Cropper highlights the synergy effects created by the unconventional interplay of fusing the energy of the streets with elegant, couture pieces to change the status of multifunctional wear. The collections are defined by Jade’s signature and contemporary expression with an emphasis on versatility, inventive detailing, imperfection and deconstructed design. Jade Cropper wants to challenge traditions, reinvent, and encourage multifunctional garments.Sustainability is a central part of Jade Croppers designs. Solving different sustainability problems gives her ideas for techniques and constructions that makes the pieces versatile, multifunctional and timeless. Jade Cropper is on a mission to steer away from fast fashion and traditional ways of production and is centered around using waste fabrics, deadstock and recycled material.Since its launch in 2020, the brand has been selected for SFC [Incubator] (formally known as Swedish Fashion Talents) and gained significant attention from the industry and on social media. Louis Abel is a creative project exploring different elements of design and expression to create jewellery and objects. The brand’s founder and designer, Jimmy Kamhieh Loutfi, has a background in mechanical engineering. After earning his BSc in 2013 at the age of 23, he spent several years designing systems &amp; technical components for the heavy industry in various sectors. Driven by exploring the contrasts of his technical background with a curiosity for organic design, the brand Louis Abel was born.&nbsp;Louis Abel experiments with new manufacturing methods and organic design at the brand’s own atelier/workshop in Sweden. The result translates to unconstrained jewellery and objects that express emotion, becoming personal and meaningful creations.

As one of the pioneers within upcycled fashion, Rave Review has made a huge impact setting the agenda for the future of fashion. Rave Review identifies various innovative ways of transforming home textiles into desirable luxury pieces. All remake fashion sourced and produced in Europe.​Launching Rave Review in 2018, Stockholm based Josephine Bergqvist and Livia Schück, the designer duo behind Rave Review, have proven that it is possible to do business with sustainability at the core. Rave Review has been nominated to the LVMH prize, been featured at Gucci Fest and recently released their first NFT collection.

Stockholm &amp; Florence-based ready-to-wear label AVAVAV led by Beate Karlsson offers sustainable clothing made from deadstock fabric.Creative director Beate Karlsson shapes the brand’s eclectic collections based on the availability of excess fabric in local warehouses. The result is a line of limited-quantity clothing and accessories that are drawn from the intersection of fashion and sculpture and entirely one-of-a-kind. Subverting conventions of traditional construction and design, AVAVAV is a leader in alternative sustainable fashion.

Petra Fagerström&nbsp;is an innovation-driven fashion designer based in London and Stockholm. A Parsons Paris School of Design Fashion Design graduate, Petra is currently pursuing her MA Fashion at CSM and has worked at Balenciaga in Paris.&nbsp;Passionate about responsible fashion, Petra is dedicated to reshaping the fashion industry by championing responsible material development and production systems. Her unique approach involves tapping into the shadow side of femininity through lenticular pleats, bringing animation into textiles to tell personal stories and comment on social subjects.&nbsp;Her work has garnered global recognition, positioning her as a finalist in the esteemed ITS Contest 2022 and the 38th Festival D’Hyères.&nbsp;

Established in 2019, AAJIYA is a contemporary lifestyle brand that changes the narrative of African Fashion and empowers the multidimensional women who embraces their full identity and freedom. AAJIYA works around a non-cliché ideology of what African fashion is by challenging and undermining stereotypes of African fashion with every piece the brand creates. AAJIYA’s mission is to change the narrative by creating various types of fabrics, rich colors patterns, and textures from Africa. AAJIYA values craftsmanship and independently produced fabrics, resulting in distinctive pieces of the past that can be worn today.As a response to a visible urge for true African identity within Western fashion, AAJIYA bridges cultural barriers and stretches the boundaries of what might be considered as ‘African’ in terms of pattern, texture, color, and style. Batik fabric is part of the brand’s DNA and tells stories that have been around for centuries. The batik is produced and sourced locally in Mali, in collaboration with small-scale local artisanal dyers.

Her visionary perspectives on design tells an inclusive story while honoring the creations as art. The award winning brand have been called a “Changemaker” providing “The most diversely casted runways in Scandinavian fashion history”.Born out of the existence of inbetweeneess - the brand is its own fluent language. Serving as more than just a trend, the strong brand DNA is captured in its design, communication, and business practices. The business model includes finding opportunities for circularity and sustainable thinking partly by using leftover materials and including preloved garments reworking them beyond recognition.Since its launch the brand has obtained global reach. The designs have been acknowledged in media such as Vogue US, Harper's Bazaar, ID, Elle and have been worn by Beyoncé, Tracee Ellis Ross, Swedish Crown Princess Victoria, Lil Nas X, Teyana Taylor, Sam Smith, Karol G, Adekunle Gold, and Dj Snake to name a few.

With an aim to inspire and unite its global community, Tuttolente champions a fearless and defiant fashion culture.&nbsp;Through the synergy of diverse subcultures, the brand authentically portrays Stockholm's spirit while hosting events under the banner "Super Active Never Lazy" (SANL), celebrating an active lifestyle rooted in creativity and hard work.&nbsp;Since 2019, Tuttolente has fostered collaborations with streetwear giant Sneakers n Stuff, local and international artists, and musicians, promoting a collaborative fashion ethos.&nbsp;

Feben is a designer based in London. A recent graduate of Central Saint Martins, where she completed MA Fashion as an Isabella Blow scholar, her work reclaims feelings of displacement. Drawing on the nomadism of her own background, she takes a surrealistic approach to exploring the visual codes of Black life from all corners of the globe. Exploring her own visual language, Feben applies the twist as her signature technique in combination with vibrant colour combinations and mixed materials.Community is at the heart of FEBEN’s dynamic design. Born in North Korea, from Ethiopia and raised in Sweden, Feben introduces a fresh perspective to the worlds of fashion and art.Feben is part of British Fashion Council NEWGEN and supported by Swedish Fashion Council in the incubator SFC [Incubator]. &nbsp;
